Alex Goodyear - December Lectures

The Cornwall Garden Society’s (CGS) December lectures will be delivered by Alex Goodyear who is the Head Gardener at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens.

This renowned horticultural attraction provides an exotic backdrop to eclectic sculptures by prestigious artists and is situated in a stunning sheltered valley near Penzance, with a spectacular view of St Michael’s Mount.

Before taking on this role, he studied horticulture for four years as an apprentice at Duchy College, Rosewarne and subsequently trained on the scholarship programme at Tresco Abbey Garden on the Isles of Scilly, which fostered his love of sub-tropical flora.

Alex’s lectures will focus on a series of gardens in Cornwall and further afield that are pushing the boundaries by growing rare and unusual plants not normally in circulation.

Gardening on the Edge will be Alex’s subject on Tuesday 9th December at 7.30pm at The Alverton in Truro and Wednesday 10th December at 2.30pm at Penventon Park Hotel in Redruth.

These lectures are free for CGS members. Non-members are welcome to attend to find out more about the Society and donations are gratefully received.
