Since winning BBC Gardener of the Year in 1999, Katherine has been designing gardens in Somerset and the South West.
Katherine went on to win BBC Gardener of the Decade in 2008 and an RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold medal for designing a display for the 125th anniversary of Kings Seeds in 2013.
Designing country gardens with difficult constraints such as steep slopes and poor access is her speciality, but she tackles all kinds of gardens from kitchen and cottage to contemporary and coastal.
Taking advantage of the mild climate of the south west, the hardy exotic garden uses mainly slow-growing evergreens with dramatic forms for year-round effect. With added perennials for seasonal, summer colour, this provides an effective, low maintenance solution for busy people who desire a vibrant garden, filled with colour.
From bamboos and fargesias to palms, tree ferns, canna lilies, dahlias, aeoniums and echeverias, we look forward to learning Katherine’s secrets for success.
