An action packed day visiting three contrasting gardens west of Penzance.
A slightly exotic cottage garden reflecting the unique climate of Mousehole.
Packed with the unusual and exotic, there will be a greater number of species that you don’t recognise than those you do!
A small but perfectly designed walled garden with great structural detail and carefully planned planting near St Buryan. Those members who recall a day of garden visits led by Michael Harvey, the garden designer in September 2024 will probably find this opportunity of visiting his own small garden
irresistible.
By contrast, ‘Tremorran and the Angel’ on the North coast at Botallack near St Just proves that with good shelter belts you can even grow a protea in these harsh salty conditions. Part of the Quiet Garden Movement it is a maze of paths leading to sheltered ‘rooms’ with well stocked borders containing shrubs, hydrangeas and herbaceous plants with plenty of seating and interesting sculptures. There’s also a grass labyrinth and an Arts and Crafts gallery.
