Ann Treneman is an author, journalist and garden designer who writes a weekly gardening column for The Times. She was previously the paper’s award winning parliamentary sketch-writer and chief theatre critic. She has studied horticulture with the RHS and has a MA in Landscape Architecture from University of Sheffield. Her container show garden at RHS Chelsea won the People’s Choice award and a silver gilt medal (2022). Ann grew up in America but has lived in Britain for decades. She now gardens in Kent. Her books include The Garden Cure, Horti Curious and RHS Greener Gardening: Containers.

Ann Treneman’s new book is a “modern day herbal” that provides horticultural answers to maladies of all kinds – for body, mind, spirit as well as those that stem from the stresses of everyday life. Ann will cover a variety of cures in her talk, from the amazing decades-long quest to harness the yew tree to the key way to what frogs and slugs can teach us about the facts of life.
