Self-drive Visit to Boskenna Manor, St Buryan and Chygurno, Lamorna

The park at Boskenna is glorious in springtime with its carpets of daffodils and colourful camellias.

Enjoy an amble around the well-maintained walled garden with its abundant espalier fruit and roses, and view a recent change of inner structure and a fabulous new greenhouse.

Established trees form a shelter belt to protect the grounds from the sea nearby. Further down the valley is another area filled with camellias, bluebells and wild garlic.

Chygurno is a three-acre garden, perched on the edge of the ocean, which contains a striking range of vibrant species, from hardy exotics to succulent species from the Southern Hemisphere. By contrast, lower down, rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and bluebells abound.

The present garden has been planted into a maze of steep pathways with steps and terraces cut into the rocks. How the garden has been developed and maintained with its steep gradient has clearly been a fascinating challenge.

The booking form will be published in the Members’ area of this website and be available in hard copy upon request from the organiser from early February 2023.
