A special treat awaits CGS members on Monday 25th August at Prideaux Place.
Kernow Chamber Players (KCP) will perform the Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio by Claude Bolling.
KCP was formed in 2021 by Harriet Petherick and Richard Bushman, to present high-quality music and theatre performances to Cornish audiences, performed, predominantly, by Cornish musicians and actors.
Having presented mostly classical music in the past, this performance marks a departure for KCP. Claude Bolling had previously enjoyed an enviable career as a jazz and film composer/performer but the Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio catapulted him to an entirely new level when it was first performed 40 years ago.
The composition is a suite of seven movements, written for a classical flute and a jazz trio (comprising piano, string bass and drums), and will feature Jenny Farley (flute), Harriet Petherick (piano), Pip Harbon (percussion) and Richard Bushman (bass).
